Privacy Policy

Hyzer has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising, and Kaishi, LLC operates no servers that the app talks to. Almost everything stays on your device or in your own iCloud account. The one exception is round invites: when you invite a friend, your display name and an anonymous identifier are stored where Kaishi could technically see them, as described below.
Your name, scores, and history
The display name you choose, the rounds you play, your scores, and your stats are stored on your device. The course catalog ships with the app and is stored on your device too.
Location
Hyzer uses your location to show the distance to the basket, to keep track of which hole you are on, and to keep scoring running while your screen is off during a round.
If you allow location access at all times, iOS can also tell the app when you arrive at a course, so it can offer to start a round. iOS does this with a boundary around each course; the app does not track where you go.
Your location is processed on your device. It is never sent to Kaishi, never shared with other players, and never added to a round.
Playing with others
Shared rounds, friends, and round invites use Apple's iCloud. They need you to be signed in to iCloud, and Apple's privacy policy covers how iCloud stores them.
- Shared rounds. The course, the players' display names, any guest names, and the scores are stored in the iCloud account of the player who started the round, and shared through iCloud with the players who join it.
- Friends. Adding a friend exchanges your display names and an anonymous iCloud identifier that Apple creates for this app. The identifier is not your Apple Account, email address, or phone number.
- Round invites. An invite holds your display name, the course name, a link to the round, and the anonymous identifiers of you and the friend you invited. It is stored in the app's public iCloud database, where only someone who already knows your friend's identifier can find it, and the app ignores invites older than six hours. Because that database belongs to the app, Kaishi could technically view invites. Kaishi does not access or use them, but for that reason the App Store lists your name and a user identifier as data linked to you, used only to make the app work and never for tracking.
Apple Watch
During a round, the Apple Watch app runs a workout session so that it stays on screen when you raise your wrist. That is why iOS asks for Health permission. The app does not read any health data and does not save workouts to the Health app.
The watch exchanges your current hole and scores with your iPhone directly, and may send its location to your iPhone to confirm a course location. Neither leaves your devices.
Notifications and Live Activities
The arrival notification and the Lock Screen scorecard are created on your device. Invite notifications are delivered by Apple's push notification service through iCloud.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Shared rounds you started and your friends list stay in your iCloud account until you delete them: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, and delete the Hyzer data. Rounds that someone else started are stored in their iCloud account.
Children
Hyzer is not directed at children. Apart from the invite details above, it collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
